What to Wear has already entered its 40s! Amazing.
Considering that I’m wearing a skirt, obviously there is nothing about this outfit that I actually want to go up.
BUT the skirt is yellow, and sunny allusions or referencing a breakfast dish in the title is the way to go. Yellow is a colour I’ve been careful with in the past as a redhead (along with red and orange). It has slowly made its way in to my wardrobe and I’ve found myself liking it. It really depends on the shade – I tend to lean towards either a lighter, creamy yellow, or a bright, lemon yellow. Considering that the total number of yellow items in my wardrobe currently amounts to two, I don’t know if I actually own that much knowledge, but hey, everyone starts somewhere.
Ironically, the skirt is neither shade, but I like it. The A-line shape is flattering, and I’ve settled for combining it with green and brown (blue next time, another combo I’ve seen beautiful stylings with). The short green cardigan will take care of the morning coolness, even if it is summer, and the necklace was one of my first little gifts to myself during my early days of discovering Hamburg. Since the yellow is somewhat darker, and the rest of the outfit is in earthy tones, cognac-brown pumps included, I went for a lipgloss with a hint of brick red. That’s all of life’s big decisions taken care of for one day.
